Digital Twin Showcase Opportunity Arises for Gafcon Digitial at ZT Systems

Facility managers are constantly overwhelmed with the amount of information they receive about their manufacturing environments, which rapidly changes. Implementing a digital twin allows facility managers to capture data from all systems in their environment to contextualize quickly and effectively, ultimately ensuring the factory maintains its quality. Importantly, it also allows changes to be made without impacting the production environment to ensure successful rollouts.

Gafcon Digital, a digital twin systems integrator, has knowledge on how to successfully integrate the components required to deliver the benefits of digitalization from planning through construction and operation. ZT Systems, a hyperscale cloud computing engineering and manufacturing company, needed a way to ensure its solutions are error-free.

Therefore, ZT Systems turned to Gafcon Digital to develop a digital twin for its manufacturing facilities. ZT Systems provides complex compute, storage and accelerator solutions for cloud and telecom service providers. Its customers depend on the company to address their complex server design needs with solutions that are built with a high level of quality and delivered on time, emphasizing the need for error-free solutions.

“Ensuring consistent and repeatable quality of our manufacturing environments is a priority for our customers and employees,” said Tony Colonna, ZT Systems director of supply chain strategy and transformation. “A digital twin will give us real-time visibility to factory conditions, helping us deliver error-free solutions.”

The digital twin enables constant monitoring of the ZT Systems manufacturing environment to ensure the quality of its server solutions for hyperscale cloud computing. To do that, Gafcon Digital integrated data from numerous environmental sensors in the factories to track temperature, humidity, air quality and dust particulate. This then prompts ZT Systems to constantly monitor the manufacturing environment and ensure the quality of its server solutions.

Gafcon Digital Vice President Sean Olcott expressed his excitement for the project because it is an opportunity to show what a digital twin can bring to a manufacturing environment.
