4 Amazing Applications of Big Data

We’re all producing massive amounts of data each and every day. With over 3 billion internet users worldwide, we’re producing petabytes upon petabytes of data every hour.

With this massive amount of information comes an incredible opportunity. We can find patterns in large data sets with the power of AI, making connections and finding solutions in disparate and distant data points.

As the internet of things progresses towards its final goal of connecting all of humanity to the internet, it is also creating an infinite supply of data.

All of this data is then collated and analyzed for different reasons across every industry. One of the areas that big data has impacted the most is the medical research industry. Medical research depends heavily on data and its accurate synthesis. From this analysis, we get amazing applications of big data.

Here are 4 incredible applications of big data everyone should know about:

1. Medical research
Medical researchers are puzzled by most forms of cancer. Cellular division randomly decays into a random, unrestricted process. When this breaks down, only brute force can be applied. Radiation and removal are the only medical strategies available at present, by and large.

However, big data could change how we research cancer. With big data and AI, researchers can analyze trillions of data points and find connections within these data points. Without the help of AI, the analysis would simply be impossible.

2. Customer relationship management
Medical research is one of the best applications of big data. Customer relationship management, on the other hand, is one of the most popular applications.

CRMs help marketers and salespeople manage customer relationships (hence the name). Customer relationship management leverages data about a company’s target market to help experienced product managers, marketers, and salespeople increase conversions.

3. Healthcare
Each of these customer-forward services uses AI to analyze big data sets and select which information is pertinent or not. When it comes to data sets though, nothing compares to medicine and insurance.

Both of these industries rely on numerous file systems to execute their tasks to the fullest. Rather than overloading them with mundane retrieval tasks, insurance, and medical professionals can use big data to acquire their information much faster than before big data. The faster they can do their job, the faster you can get results. It is the streamlining effect of big data that truly makes it valuable.

Healthcare could be transformed by big data and AI. Millions of people already use health trackers and health apps to track their behaviors. This data is already being harnessed to help predict, report and prevent health problems.

4. Insurance
Medical professionals rely on treating their patients quickly and accurately, both of which big data can do and medical insurance companies rely on the data collected by medical professionals.

Insurance professionals rely on a number of file systems to do their job with total accuracy which big data also provides by constantly comparing its data sets to one another. Whether it be finding the cure to a disease or finding a deal on a car, big data is there to provide you with the answers.

For instance, if someone needed the most affordable price of a specific car within a particular geographic area, then they would use AI to execute that trade. The AI would then use big data to search through every record to find the matching results to the request. We can also use big data to assist customers with their service requests and questions by using CRM software and chatbots.

Conclusion
Big data is a truly incredible resource that assists in research, development, and even customer relations. Essentially, big data refers to the massive pool of data provided by the endless applications and websites of the internet.

Big data provides both of those in great quantities as it uses advanced AI to quickly parse through the data and find the most helpful information. Over billions and billions of gigabytes of data are examined in a flash and presented to researchers who can use the data to advance medicine.

As you might imagine, medical records go back for decades and filtering through what is applicable and what is not is a nearly impossible take for a group of people. Instead, big data uses its AI to find only the most applicable data sets without simply pushing data dumps onto the researchers.

However, big data also has more consumer-focused applications as well. People who want to find data sets of their own accord can typically do so very quickly through the AI born into search engines and filtering.
