Advanced Water Metering Infrastructure Grows to Meet Increased Need

Reports estimate that 80 billion additional metric tons of municipal water will be required over the next five years for use in cities.

To meet the escalating demands of so many inhabitants, cities are looking at ways to become “smarter” and more flexible in responding to citizens’ needs, a challenge recognized by Senet and MeterSYS, who recently announced their collaboration to provide utilities and local governments with IoT solutions for a broad range of municipal services including water distribution, sewer collection, storm, and floodwater management, solid waste management, parking controls, fleet management, public safety, energy conservation, and climate monitoring. 

Senet’s cloud-based software and services platforms reportedly is being integrated with MeterSYS smart city and metering technology solutions for public utilities. Senet has already designed and implemented smart meter networks for many municipal water utility districts across North America, representing millions of households. MeterSYS provides evaluation, selection, and implementation services for advanced metering infrastructure serving public utilities.
