Keyfactor and Gemalto Collaborate to Deliver Secure Identity Services

By Ken Briodagh
November 27, 2018

Keyfactor, formerly Certified Security Solutions (CSS), and a provider of secure digital identity management solutions, recently announced an expanded technology relationship with Gemalto. The agreement provides customers with the freedom to move enterprise PKI securely to the cloud and benefit from the cloud-based certificate management platform.

The combination of Keyfactor and Gemalto's SafeNet Luna Hardware Security Module (HSM) is designed to allow enterprises and creators of Internet of Things-enabled products to realize the benefits of a dedicated, highly customizable and secure PKI, with the flexibility, scalability and rapid deployment models of cloud delivery. The Keyfactor Command and Keyfactor Control platforms enable enterprises and creators of Internet of Things-enabled products to operate a secure public key infrastructure (PKI) in cloud or client-hosted environments while securing the entire PKI hierarchy in a SafeNet HSM. Enterprises have the option to deploy either an on-premises SafeNet HSM or a cloud-based HSM with SafeNet Data Protection On Demand.

“SafeNet Data Protection On Demand provides the innovation not seen from other cloud HSM solutions, and Gemalto was the only vendor that met our stringent requirements for security, reliability and ease of operations,” said Ted Shorter, Co-Founder and CTO, Keyfactor. “We're thrilled to partner with them – it's truly a 'better together' scenario for customers.”

“The Keyfactor solution is unique and has many applications for the security of the Internet of Things, manufacturing, connected automobiles, and code signing. In addition, the flexibility of these cloud solutions means customers can move their enterprise services to the cloud and get all the benefits of owning PKI while minimizing the risks,” said Todd Moore, SVP, Encryption Products, Gemalto.
