According to a recent announcement, ReFirm Labs, a provider of IoT and firmware security solutions, has entered into a new strategic technology collaboration with Wind River, which delivers software for critical infrastructure. The collaboration reportedly is designed to accelerate the development and integration of ReFirm Labs' Centrifuge Platform for IoT security with Wind River's VxWorks, a real-time operating system (RTOS) used in commercial aircraft, space exploration and military operations.

“For nearly 40 years, Wind River has helped the most recognizable brands in the aerospace and defense industries power generation after generation of embedded devices,” said Peter Eacmen, CTO, ReFirm Labs. “Our new technology collaboration allows us to provide analysis and insight about firmware security for products built on top of the Wind River VxWorks platform for critical infrastructure applications.”

ReFirm Labs' Centrifuge Platform is a proactive IoT and firmware security solution designed to help companies analyze firmware for hidden dangers and respond immediately to potential weak spots.

“Wind River's collaboration with ReFirm Labs enables our customers to realize the full benefits offered by ReFirm Lab's Centrifuge Platform,” said Ray Petty, VP, aerospace and defense markets, Wind River. “By teaming with an emerging leader in the IoT security space like ReFirm Labs, we're bringing together decades of experience securing devices, and we're excited to offer that kind of world-class expertise to our customers.”
