Earlier this year, we dedicated coverage on IoT Evolution World to the now-rebranded Ezurio, formerly known as Laird Connectivity. (Readers interested in our full “Same Experts, New Name” story can read it here.)
Here’s a super-short recap:
As the company’s CEO Bill Steinike put it, “Ezurio’s lineup of wireless connectivity and processing solutions, along with our secure multi-OS software and accredited wireless testing capabilities, continues to expand. Nevertheless, quality connectivity will always be in our DNA, as is our understanding of customers’ diverse challenges. So while our name change may be new, our focus hasn’t changed. Ezurio’s team still leverages decades of experience in product design, development, manufacturing, testing and support to speedily bring your IoT aspirations to life.”
Ezurio avails SoMs, wireless modules, SBCs, internal antennas and myriad IoT sensors and gateways; it has also been developing:
Today, we’re covering news most pertinent to that last development (and IIoT, in turn).
At the end of August, Ezurio officially announced its upcoming Sona TI351, the latest addition to its aforementioned Sona portfolio. (The TI in TI351 linking it to, of course, Texas Instruments.)
Based on the Texas Instruments SimpleLink CC3351 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE companion IC, the Ezurio Sona TI351 is designed to meet a variety of challenges faced by professionals in industrial and medical IoT (IIoT and IoMT, respectively), and is engineered with the latest Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth LE 5.4 standards. This allows it to deliver “high data throughput, enhanced range, and much-improved network efficiency,” according to the news release. With these dual-band capabilities, the TI351 is poised as an ideal choice for applications involving real-time data transmission and low-latency communications.
“The Sona TI351 is a game-changer for industrial IoT, combining the power of Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE 5.4 to deliver unmatched connectivity and efficiency, in a cost-effective solution” said Andy Ross, Senior Product Manager at Ezurio. “Our collaboration with Texas Instruments underscores our commitment to delivering premium connectivity solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.”
From Texas Instruments, Product Line Manager of Wi-Fi Connectivity Shmulki Elgavi also commented.
“Our team is committed to enabling seamless and efficient connectivity solutions wherever possible,” Elgavi added. “Our collaboration with Ezurio is a testament to this commitment, combining our reliable Wi-Fi technology with Ezurio's innovative approach to deliver wireless products that set new industry standards.”
Learn more about Internet of Things solutions (Industrial IoT, included) at IoT Evolution Expo 2025, which will be taking place from February 11-13, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Part of the #TECHSUPERSHOW experience, this event combines educational conference programming with a robust exhibit hall, networking events and other activities, bringing together buyers and providers of business technology products and services that are critical to IoT.
