ZEDEDA, OnLogic, and an edge computing solution tailor-made for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) environments.
Let’s talk about all of this, readers.
ZEDEDA — featured several times over on our IoT Evolution World news site — excels in the management and orchestration of the distributed edge. Its teams make edge computing as painless as can be; they keep it open and intrinsically secure, extending cloud experience and agility to the edge itself. (ZEDEDA also greatly reduces the overall cost of managing and orchestrating distributed edge infrastructure and applications, while increasing visibility and control.)
In 2023, we covered the company’s debut of ZEDEDA Edge Application Services, as well as the announcement of its ZEDEDA Certified Edge Computing Associate (ZCEA) certification. The former makes it easier for IoT-minded customers to instantly gain better granular control across all their edge applications (including modern AI-powered ones), and the latter — certification available to anyone interested in the edge computing industry — is free and vendor-agnostic, and said certification can be shared on resumes, online profiles and job boards.
Then, earlier this year (back in May), we spoke more about IoT device management at the edge; specifically, in the vein of ZEDEDA’s then-announced ZEDEDA Edge Sync, which proves ideal for IoT network and edge deployments wherein challenges arise, demanding a different approach.
Fast-forward to present day, and ZEDEDA has established a strategic partnership with OnLogic, a manufacturer of highly configurable small form factor computers — engineered for reliability at the IoT/IIoT edge, to boot.
For context, OnLogic specializes in industrial computing hardware that can be deployed in some of the most challenging environments (i.e. with advanced ingress protection and resistance to extreme temperatures, variable power and vibration forces). Since 2003, OnLogic has supported 70,000+ customers worldwide.
So, together now (i.e. combining ZEDEDA’s cloud-native edge orchestration software with OnLogic’s rugged, industrial-grade hardware), enterprise teams will gain access to a comprehensive platform for easily (and securely) deploying, managing, and scaling edge computing workloads while accelerating time to value.
According to the official announcement, this combined application-agnostic solution “OnLogic Powered by ZEDEDA” is reportedly “engineered for industrial environments with multi-year solution lifecycles, delivered with SaaS management for faster ROI, and backed by a unified engineering and product roadmap shaped by collective customer feedback.”
Per Said Ouissal, founder and CEO of ZEDEDA:
“We’re excited to partner with OnLogic and enable our customers with a solution that solves the obstacles customers face today at the edge, such as adverse physical and security environments, challenging network circumstances, and extreme scale. OnLogic Powered by ZEDEDA provides a flexible foundation that removes the complexities of deploying and managing edge devices and applications and gives our customers the confidence that their edge solution is architected to protect their IP at every step, from the factory to the field.”
And per Roland Groeneveld, co-founder and Executive Chair of OnLogic:
“Together, ZEDEDA and OnLogic are directly addressing a critical pain point in the industry. Securely deploying and updating hardware and software across a distributed edge network has traditionally been an expensive and time-consuming endeavor. Our solution's application-agnostic nature means customers can deploy and manage any edge application they need. It provides the flexibility to adapt as their requirements change, saving significant time and resource costs. This partnership will help enterprises protect data sovereignty by running applications closer to data sources, even in offline environments.”
